Kemp Little, the UK’s leading technology law firm, has advised T-Mobile UK on a five-year managed services agreement with Ericsson.
Kemp Little, led by commercial technology partner, Paul O’Hare, worked closely with T-Mobile senior legal counsel Reg Dhanjal to advise T-Mobile’s commercial team on the deal.
The contract includes the outsourcing of T-Mobile’s field operations and multi-vendor spare parts management in the UK, as well as the updating of T-Mobile’s network infrastructure. It also enables T-Mobile UK to lower costs and reinforce the company's growth programme. Around 190 T-Mobile staff have transferred under the agreement.
The deal is one of a number of similar arrangements in 2007 among mobile network operators to outsource network functions.
Paul O’Hare, lead partner said, “We are delighted to have had the opportunity to work with T-Mobile on such a strategically significant contract. This reinforces our commitment to advise across all areas of communications and technology.”
Reg Dhanjal, of T-Mobile added: “We were very pleased to have Kemp Little alongside us on this agreement. This is an important step in the evolution of our network strategy which underpins T-Mobile's commitment to provide a superior service experience for the 17 million customers that use the T-Mobile network in the UK.”
