Kemp Little, the leading technology and digital media law firm, today announced the appointment of Siddhartha Mankad as its first Chief Operating Officer.
Mankad joins on Monday 1st August 2011 as a Fixed Share Partner and a member of the firm’s Management Board. Since 2003 he has been at Boodle Hatfield as Director of Operations and IT looking after technology, risk management, compliance and office services. Prior to that Mankad, who has a B. Paul Garland, Executive Partner said: “Siddhartha has the right mix of skills at the right level of seniority and we are delighted he’s joining us as our first COO. We are experiencing growth in all our practice areas at the moment, and it’s great that we and our lawyers, and by extension our clients, will be getting the benefit of the law firm expertise he has built up over many years.”
Siddhartha Mankad said: “In a crowded and hugely competitive market, Kemp Little has carved out a reputation as an ambitious, innovative, forward thinking firm that’s open to new ideas and really thinks about how it can continuously improve what it does for its clients. I’m delighted to be joining them and to have the opportunity of bringing my skills to bear on the firm’s development.”
Separately, the firm also announced two other senior appointments in its core services teams. First, Anna Di Camillo, who joined Kemp Little as Business Development Manager from Ipsos MORI in September 2010, has been promoted to Head of Business Development. Secondly, Andrew O’Brien takes over as Financial Controller on 5th August 2011. O’Brien, who joined the firm in July 2011, was at Linklaters from 1998 to 2007 (as Financial Reporting Controller from 2003) and at Deloitte from 2007 to 2010 as Senior Financial Controller.
Commenting on these three appointments, Garland said “Siddhartha, Anna and Andrew’s appointments demonstrate our desire to build what is, by any standards, a first class business infrastructure to support the growth and development of our firm. As the UK market for business legal services heads into a period structural change, we believe a top class platform will become indispensable for those firms who want to succeed in the choppier conditions ahead.”
