Kemp Little, the specialist technology law firm, today announced that Paul Hinton and Andrew Joint have joined the firm as partners in the Commercial Technology practice.
Richard Kemp, senior partner, commented: “These hires represent a significant development for our firm. We believe our technology focus puts us in a strong position in today’s market; and this is the right time to seize opportunities to grow. Paul Hinton and Andrew Joint are outstanding lawyers who have each demonstrated an ability to build strong client relationships. We are delighted they have joined our partnership as we continue to build out what we believe is the finest technology offering in London.”
“In today’s challenging conditions, technology more than ever enables our clients to innovate, transform, increase efficiencies and reduce costs. As technology lawyers, our whole rationale is constantly to improve how we support our clients as they navigate tougher markets and keep ahead. Paul’s and Andrew’s arrivals significantly extend our capacity and capability to do that.”
Paul Hinton was previously a Partner and Andrew Joint an Associate Director at top insurance/reinsurance firm Barlow, Lyde and Gilbert. Paul joined Kemp Little on 14 December 2009 and Andrew on 11 January 2010. Chris Hill will also be joining Kemp Little as a solicitor from BLG.
Calum Murray, Commercial Technology Group Head at Kemp Little, commented: “Working with one in 10 of the FTSE 100, we see in-house teams constantly raising the bar on what they’re looking for from outside counsel. Being excellent technical lawyers isn’t enough; we must also keep ahead on the legal issues, show we understand how technology impacts our clients and deliver solutions that add genuine value."
“The skills that Paul and Andrew bring meet these demanding tests, and extend our technology expertise in areas where we’re already strong. Paul, who worked in-house at the London Stock Exchange in a former life, has a specialty in financial services IT, especially in the rapidly growing areas of data and trading platforms. Andrew has great experience in retail and professional services IT with a particular emphasis on outsourcing and procurement.
“Paul’s and Andrew’s arrivals genuinely broaden and deepen our capability to provide support at the highest level to our buy-side IT clients and to our software, services and online clients.”
Paul Hinton said: “In a crowded market place, Kemp Little is successfully differentiating itself through its technology sector focus. The firm has had a ‘good recession’ and is well placed for the future. We’ve been particularly struck by the partners’ attention to client service and their dynamism and energy. It’s great to be joining a practice where what we do – technology - drives everything they do. We’re looking forward to making a big contribution to the development of the firm as we build our careers together.”
