flexibility will win the talent war

HR Magazine, 15 March 2007

Flexibility will become the big issue that companies compete on to attract talent. This is according to Microsoft's HR director, Dave Gartenberg. He believes that to woo talent, companies will be forced to embrace flexibility within the workplace. Gartenberg was speaking at the recent Orange Future Enterprise coalition forum, where he also predicted that financial institutions would lag behind in offering such benefits to their employees. The "Future Worlds of Work" event discussed how four contrasting visions of the working future could emerge in parallel with one another. David Williams, head of employment at solicitors Kemp Little LLP, also spoke at the event, warning of the legal implications of such a future: "DEaling with the amalgamation of such different workplaces will prove tricky."
