Kemp Little, the leading UK technology focused law firm, announces in its 10th anniversary year, seven additional fee earners and a partner promotion in the last six months. The expansion highlights the increasing need for technology advice in the convergence age.
After a strategy review in 2006 and feedback from client interviews, Kemp Little's focus is on providing a comprehensive range of legal services to companies in the technology sector and the sectors that technology transforms. Further expansion at partner level is planned in the : competition, corporate and digital media areas.
Following a number of client wins and the successful launch of its litigation practice in April, expansion has taken place across all four of the firm’s practice areas.
The Commercial Technology group, already one of the largest dedicated technology teams in the UK, has recruited three fee earners to provide further expertise in the technology and media sectors.
Catherine Barrett is joining the Commercial Technology group on 10 December 2007 from Linklaters. Catherine graduated with a degree in Law from the University of Warwick in 2001 and trained at Clifford Chance LLP where she qualified in 2005.
Julia Jones joined the Commercial Technology group on the 1 October 2007 from FremantleMedia Limited. Julia graduated with a 1st Class degree in European Law from the University of Warwick in 2002 and trained at Simmons & Simmons where she qualified in 2006.
Marisha Laudan, who qualified in September 2007 from Shadbolt & Co LLP, joined the Commercial Technology group on the 1 October 2007. Marisha graduated in Law from the London School of Economics in 2002.

The Litigation practice has been in great demand since the launch in April and has recruited an additional IP litigation specialist. Jeremy Harris is joining the Litigation group on 19 November 2007 from Berwin Leighton Paisner LLP where he qualified in 2003. Jeremy graduated with a degree in Law and Sociology from the University of Exeter.
The Corporate practice has expanded to match the increased M&A and VC activity in the technology sector. Sam Kessler joined the Corporate group on 13 August 2007 from Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer. Sam graduated from Oxford University with a doctorate in English literature. He completed his CPE/ PgDL in Law at Oxford Brookes University then trained at Freshfields, qualifying in 2005.
The employment practice has added two fee earners to meet increasing demand. Katee Dias is joining the Employment group on 5 November 2007 from Goodman Derrick LLP. Katee graduated with a degree in Law and Business from the University of Warwick in 2002 and trained at Simmons & Simmons where she qualified in 2005.
Claire Henry joined the Employment group on 4 June 2007 from White & Case. Claire graduated with a degree in History and Law from the University of Exeter and trained at White and Case where she qualified in 2005.
