New Commercial technology lawyers at kemp little LLP

july 2006

Kemp Little LLP, the leading UK technology law firm, today announced the recruitment of three further lawyers to its growing commercial technology practice.

Mike Conradi qualified in 1998 at Baker & McKenzie joining Stephenson Harwood as Head of Technology from Bakers in January 2005. Mike starts at Kemp Little on 10 July 2006.

Jeff Goodall joins from Simmons & Simmons' Communications, Outsourcing and Technology practice. After a previous career as a communications officer with a bachelor of electrical engineering in the Royal Australian Air Force, Jeff qualified as a solicitor in New South Wales in 1999 and was a senior associate at Mallesons Stephen Jaques in Sydney, before joining Simmons in September 2004 and qualifying as an English solicitor. Jeff joins Kemp Little on 6 July 2006.

Calum Murray, commercial technology group head at Kemp Little, said: "In the first six months of 2006, the work of our commercial technology group is 30% up on the previous year. As the practice continues to grow strongly we have been working closely with the recruiters over the last few months. The arrival of Mike and Jeff will deepen our skills in our core convergence, software & services, outsourcing, IT acquisition and telecoms practices and we're delighted to have them on board."

"Mike is an experienced communications and technology lawyer with proven client relationship and development skills. He gained first class commercial experience in his eight years at Baker & McKenzie, including a year on secondment at OFTEL and extensive work with clients in the communications sector.

Jeff has five years of specialist technology law experience, including outsourcing project work and a recent six month secondment at the legal group of Yahoo."

The firm also announced that James Duffett-Smith, who qualified in 2005, will be joining the practice from Pinsent Masons in September 2006.

"As technology comes back, and competition for the best lawyers hots up, we are delighted to be welcoming lawyers of the calibre of Mike, Jeff and James to the practice" said Murray.

The firm is continuing to recruit into its commercial technology practice and is looking to broaden and deepen its reach in the commercial, competition, IP and regulatory areas.
