Podcast | People and Pandemic series- how to manage challenging workplace conversations when working remotely
In this podcast Marian Bloodworth and Kathryn Dooks are joined by Matt Dean, Co founder of Byrne Dean and author of “The Soft Stuff – reclaiming kindness for the world of work“ to discuss the challenges and issues that arise when employers need to have challenging conversations with employees who are working remotely. Matt Dean offers his tips and suggestions for managing these conversations, particularly in relation to redundancy, against the backdrop of a pandemic and with reminders of the need to take into account the mental health impact both on those receiving and giving the messages.
This is the second in our podcast series. In their first conversation Kathryn and Marian discussed with Richard Martin the mental health issues arising generally for employees and employers when working remotely during a pandemic and explored ways for HR and managers to support their employees and each other.
