Kemp Little is delighted to announce the appointment of Marian Bloodworth as a partner in its employment team.
Marian will support the employment team’s general contentious and non-contentious practice but brings a particular expertise in complex litigation in the financial services sector. She will also bring invaluable expertise in advising financial services clients on the implications and challenges of the new Senior Managers Regime (SMR).
Kemp Little’s employment practice focuses on advising technology, financial services and digital commerce and media companies on all of their employment law needs with regular advice on sector-critical issues such as the protection of business interests, regulatory issues, TUPE and outsourcing.
The firm has made a particular strategic push into financial technology (fintech) and has won some significant technology and financial services regulatory-orientated work in the past year and a half for leading UK and international financial services institutions. Marian’s expertise will be key to maintaining that momentum and broadening the range of expert advice that the firm can provide to clients in this sector.
A number of strategic hires will be announced over the coming months to bolster the firm’s ability to support its clients in areas where technology has a rapidly growing impact.
Marian Bloodworth said: ”I am very excited to be joining Kemp Little at this key stage in its growth plans. The firm is a great fit for my existing practice and I am looking forward to building on the opportunities presented by the firm’s strategy and my own experience to further expand the employment team’s offering.”
Managing partner David Williams said of Marian’s appointment: ”We are delighted to have Marian join us. Her arrival adds real strength and depth to the employment department’s financial services offering and in turn will help the firm develop its sweet spot in the provision of legal services at the intersection between technology and financial services. Marian’s appointment, along with a number of other strategic hires which are in the pipeline, reinforces the firm’s commitment to continuing to add expertise to support the strong growth trajectory it has seen over the past 18 months.”
Marian joins the firm from Berwin Leighton Paisner where she was a partner in their employment team.
